Getting Started

Creating an account is simple:

  1. Click on "Get Started" or "Sign Up" button
  2. Fill in your business information
  3. Verify your email address
  4. Complete your business profile
  5. Get your API keys and start integrating

After creating your account:

  1. Log in to your dashboard
  2. Navigate to Settings > API Keys
  3. You'll find both Test and Live API keys
  4. Copy your Public Key and Secret Key
  5. Use Test keys for development and Live keys for production
Never share your Secret Key publicly or commit it to version control.

A sub-user is an end-user managed by your business through our platform. Each sub-user has:

  • Their own unique wallet
  • Individual transaction limits
  • Separate transaction history
  • Custom metadata for your business needs

Sub-users are created and managed entirely via API, giving you full control over your customer base.

Transactions

Collections allow you to receive payments from customers:

  1. Make an API call to create a collection request
  2. Customer receives payment instructions
  3. Customer pays via bank transfer, card, or USSD
  4. Funds are settled to your wallet instantly
  5. You receive a webhook notification

Fee: 1.5% per successful transaction

Disbursements allow you to send money to bank accounts:

  1. Ensure your wallet has sufficient balance
  2. Make an API call with recipient bank details
  3. Funds are debited from your wallet
  4. Money is sent to recipient's bank account
  5. You receive confirmation via webhook

Fee: ₦50 per transaction

We support the following bill payment types:

  • Airtime: MTN, GLO, Airtel, 9mobile
  • Data Bundles: All major networks
  • Electricity: IKEDC, EKEDC, AEDC, and more
  • Cable TV: DSTV, GOtv, Startimes
  • Internet: Smile, Spectranet

Fee: 2% per transaction

Security & Compliance

No, we do not hold customer funds.

Billway Services is a connector platform. We route all transactions directly through our licensed payment provider partners. This means:

  • Your funds are held by licensed financial institutions
  • We act as a technical bridge between you and providers
  • Your money is always secure with regulated entities
  • We never have direct access to customer funds

We take security seriously:

  • End-to-end encryption for all API requests
  • HMAC signing for transaction authentication
  • IP whitelisting for additional security
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • PCI DSS compliant infrastructure
  • 24/7 fraud monitoring
